Description
-----------
FlyCraft is a 2D physics build-and-launch game. Herbie is a ladybug too lazy and chubby to fly with
his own wings, so players build flying machines for him. On a drawing board you bolt parts together --
wood planks, steel beams, cardboard boxes, wheels -- strap Herbie in and hit GO. The craft rolls down
The Leaf Ramp; mid-flight you fire rockets, pop soda cans, spin up propellers and turbines and trim
the wings and tail. The score is the flight distance. Crashes are the punchline: distance milestones
unlock new gadgets, so you build better and fly farther. The game is at its funniest when a player
builds something that looks questionable, watches the physics reveal an unexpected flaw, and returns
to the drawing board.

Features
--------
- 14 gadgets, unlocked by distance: wood plank, steel beam, cardboard box, bike wheel, tractor wheel,
soda can, The Rocket, wing, propeller, bike horn, plane wheels, plane tail, Rocket X, turbine
- Replays of every flight, recorded and shareable
- Global "Max distance" leaderboard
- 13 achievements, including "Felix" (altitude of 1,000 -- a nod to Felix Baumgartner) and
  "Fly 1,000,000" (total distance)
- Hangar with 3x3 saved-craft slots

History
-------
- Created by independent developer Harry Kalogirou with Thanasis Lightbridge.
- Herbie was conceived in a one-day brainstorm at the start of October 2012.
- Built in 30 days as an entry for the Ludum Dare October Challenge 2012 ("Finish a game, take it to
market, and earn $1."), on Harry's own custom game engine rather than commercial software.
- Released 1 November 2012; quickly became the #1 Top Paid Game on BlackBerry, ahead of Angry Birds at
  the time.
- Won "Best New Game" in CrackBerry's 2012 Readers' Choice Awards; featured by BlackBerry executives in
their keynote at the BlackBerry Developer Conference in Amsterdam.
- Ported to iOS and Android in March 2017.
